I offer commercially-focused legal advice, reflecting my experience gained through over two decades as a partner of a major law firm and now as principal of my own practice, in areas including those listed below.

I thrive on complex and novel structures and projects.

Energy and resources

I have a long track record in acting for resources and energy companies large and small, and their financiers, advising on acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, management and operating agreements, commodity sales agreements, infrastructure access arrangements, structuring and commercialisation, financing, and contractual negotiation and interpretation.

Financial services

I have acted on project, corporate and structured finance deals, advising financial institutions and corporate borrowers on both straightforward and complex financing arrangements.

I am also experienced in workouts and restructures of companies in financial difficulties.

And please see my PPSA page for details of my Personal Property Securities Act expertise.

Infrastructure

I have advised sponsors, investors and financiers on major tollroad, port and other public-private partnership projects in Australia and elsewhere.

My experience also includes port and rail transactions, particularly in the energy and resources sectors.

Cross-border transactions

I have substantial expertise in cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on Asia, including 7 years working spent in Hong Kong and Singapore.  I am well placed to help clients based outside Australia with investments and other transactions in Australia, and to help Australian clients navigate the legal environment in Asia.

My time in Singapore often involved undertaking a co-ordinating role on transactions for regional HQs of multinational corporations, managing local legal resources and the delivery of services across multiple countries.
